about

Originally recorded throughout 2016 and 2017, Monotony Found In Reality is MJ Anderson’s debut LP. The album was recorded in an alternative fashion, that being one riff after the next.

Matt composed each song when ideas came to mind, in an attempt to capture a style of heavy metal that was not predetermined in any manner. A lot of the riffs were written and then recorded while Matt traveled, using a DI box and a laptop. MFIR sees MJ draw influence from genres futher afield. During his music degree, Matt combined EDM with metal as part of one of his modules. Several songs made it onto MFIR, such as ‘Unfalsifiable’ and ‘We’re Going Home’, that exhibit a string influence of drum and bass music.

Monotony Found In Reality is split into 11 tracks, but can be experienced how it was written, as one long project.
